Return to Spring 2024: After-School Programming

This Spring, the Seattle Tennis and Education Foundation is offering free after school programming at Magnuson Park to families that qualify for free/reduced lunch. We welcome grades 2nd-8th and will be offering programming on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.

Fridays (Tennis ONLY): All grades are welcome

We will be limiting the enrollment, so please only sign up for the day(s) that your child plans to attend.

Fridays will feature tennis and physical activity and life skills programming to awaken curiosity, self-esteem, and to deepen learning. STEF delivers proven academic and athletic programming that foster self-sufficiency and help participants develop the skills and confidence to succeed in school and beyond. No prior tennis knowledge or experience is required.

Important Information:

    • Programming times will run on Fridays from 4:45pm-6:15pm.
    • Participants must be dropped off or arrive within 15 minutes of the start of the program.
  • Coaches will meet families across from the Magnuson Park Community Center for pickup and drop off. Tennis occurs within Tennis Center Sand Point and the enrichment/life skills programming takes place within Mercy Housing.
  • Youth will need to be picked up within 15 minutes after programming ends.
  • STEF follows the Seattle Public Schools academic calendar and will not have programming on the following dates: May 27th, and June 19th.
  • All program materials are provided (racquet, balls, equipment, classroom supplies etc.) and a nutritious after-school snack!
  • Youth are expected to interact with other children, be attentive, and to attend all sessions.
  • Children are required to participate in all activities as instructed by STEF staff as they are able to.
  • Failure to follow the rules and STEF Code of Conduct can result in expulsion from the program.
  • Disrespect of STEF staff, any provider's staff, mentors, and instructors; refusal to follow instructions, fighting, bullying of any type, are grounds for immediate dismissal.
